The Data Mine Corporate Partners program is a professional development program. We want to help you develop the skills you need to be successful in your career. We will have a variety of professional development activities throughout the semester.

Each sprint you will complete a few professional development-related tasks. In this sprint, we will begin to prepare you for Final Presentations at the end of the semester via Data Storytelling and a framework for How to give a Strong Presentation. Additionally, we will be checking in on your teams progress with the Kanban Board.

When: Due Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET. Late work will not be accepted.


What: Watch this Ted Talk about How to Give a Strong Presentation and complete the assignment in "Sprint 5: Professional Development". Make sure you watch until the end, as most of your assignment will be based on the Transformation Matrix.


Where: Complete the knowledge check for this professional development training on Gradescope in the assignment "Sprint 5: Professional Development".


Why: A high-quality final presentation is essential for your project's success in The Data Mine. The concepts in this video will help you build an outline for your team's presentation. We aim for these presentations to be professional, not only to impress our mentors but also to teach you how to create successful presentations in the real world.

What: Watch the following video on Storytelling with Data and complete the reflection questions in Gradescope. The concepts discussed in this video, combined with the previous assignment, will be used to create your final presentation this fall.

Why: Data storytelling allows you to transform raw numbers into meaningful insights that are meaningful to major stakeholders on your project. What: Submit a photo of your teams Kanban Board and reflect on how your team has been utilizing it, effectively or ineffectively.

Why: The Kanban Board is essential for a well functioning Corporate Partners team. We want to understand how you feel about its usefulness so far, so your team can make necessary adjustments for the future.
